Principle of non-destructive testing equipment

Principle and features of 3D ultrasonic inspection system Matrixeye™ (synthetic aperture method)

A wide beam transmitted by electronic scanning is received with full aperture, allowing for transmission and reception of ultrasound through numerous channels. The large amount of ultrasound data received creates a 3D image with the following features.

  • The entire depth of the inspection object is evenly focused.
(The resolution is reduced outside focused areas in monocular probes and phased-array probes).
  • Overlapping many ultrasonic waveforms improves signal-to-noise ratio.
